This 9 month old girl came to us from Houston, TX, where she was in a crowded shelter in pain. With limited resources there, her only option was amputation of her leg at the hip. We opted to bring her to Colorado where our veterinary team performed FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery. This option, while more expensive than amputation, would allow Kendra to keep her leg, and to live pain-free with full mobility.
We are happy to report that as a result of your generosity, Kendra’s surgery is complete, and she is on her way to a full recovery! From her foster mom Laurie, “ Kendra is recovering well – she is active, eating well and loves long naps by the fire. Today there is no limp and she had been up on the bed and sofa several times. She is very sweet and undaunted by this new environment. She is a lovely creature and fun to have here!”
In fact, she will be posted for adoption within the next couple of weeks.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, our Advanced Medical Fund enables CFFR to change the lives of kitties like Kendra. We are truly grateful for your commitment to helping animals in need.
